1. Check your spare tire.
. Save yourself the aggravation of being stranded in the South Texas heat and check your spare tire.
- Lofi Tip: Test the air pressure of your driving tires and your spare once a month. You'll thank yourself when you need that spare tire!
2. Change the oil.
Oil problems such as dirty oil or low oil can be some of the most expensive car maintenance issues to repair, since oil affects a lot of your car’s bigger functions.
- Lofi Tip: Change the oil every 5,000 miles or follow what is recommended by your car manufacturer.
3. Keep the battery clean.
Corrosion can form on the terminals of your battery. If you don’t keep them clean, the battery could develop a crack or not function properly, leaving you and your family stranded.
- Lofi Tip: Test your battery twice a year and inspect it for corrosion.
4. Replace the brake pads.
Being able to stop before rear-ending that brand new Tesla in front of you is priceless.

5. Replace your air filter.

8. Check your coolant level.
The coolant affects everything from the heater and air conditioner to the radiator and water pump.
9. Check your spark plugs.
. If your engine is giving you trouble, one of the common reasons and easy fixes are the spark plugs.
